702 North Capitol
Located at 702 North Capitol, adjacent to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and blocks from the Indiana Central Canal, this project provided a unique opportunity to relocate longtime Indianapolis based architectural firm Rowland Design from its aging Lockerbie Square offices. The infill-focused project began with a vacant, single-story commercial building. Through a collaborative design process to meet the tenant’s requirements, the building grew to include a second floor studio overlooking downtown Indianapolis. Our team is proud of the outcome – a true adaptive reuse project.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce awarded Loftus Robinson and Rowland Design two Monumental Awards in 2015 for exemplary work in the interior design and architecture categories for Rowland Design’s headquarters.
Monumental Awards are presented to individuals and businesses that contribute to excellence in landscape architecture, interior design, neighborhood revitalization, architecture, engineering, construction, real estate development, innovation reuse, and public art throughout the Indianapolis region.
Monumental Awards recognize projects based upon criteria determined by judges from the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Interior Designers, the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Indiana Construction Roundtable, the Urban Land Institute, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation. .
